Week 7 - Pick a Color

What a roller coaster this challenge was…

I was originally super excited for this challenge and already had my idea planned out. I was going to do something with prisms and rainbows.

The week went on and I decided to give the prompt another read…oh crap…I am supposed to pick a specific color and do multiple shots of that color *facepalm. I 100% misread this one initially.

Okay okay…this whole challenge is meant to spur creativity, using a rainbows is still okay. Amazon order for some prisms in! Fast forward a day, my delivery is here “yay!”. Wait a sec…why do my prisms look a lot like Blink security cameras?? Lol…

A quick return, another order, another day…I have my prisms.

I never knew that getting a prism to make an actual clear rainbow was so dang difficult. I am going to be experimenting with these in the future but I could not get a usable rainbow out of these for the life of me.

Fast forward and I am scrambling to come up with an idea for the prompt. What started out as something I was looking forward to, has become something I was dreading. I decided that I would sit and think and come up with something!

My friend and I have been discussing RGB light panels recently (he just recently got some) and I figured I would use my colored light bulbs to help reinforce the color aspect of this challenge…now I need a subject…

I decided to fall back on my trusty old desk decorations, just like Week 4, and use my jellyfish paperweight. When I saw it, it made me think of some of the crazy, bright colors of jellyfish…perfect!

Bust out the macro lens, fiddle with the lighting until I have it just right…got it.

I really am looking forward to some better weather, doing all of these challenges, while stuck in the house due to wind and rain is beginning to get very frustrating.

I will say though, I am very excited for next week’s challenge and I have some ideas already.
